Explosion protection with a system

With the Ex-Cube, TEKA launches a product innovation for more safety in the handling of explosive materials

"With this compact special system, we are definitely closing a gap in the product range." (Simon Telöken, TEKA Managing Director)

In the metal processing industry, the requirements are increasing immensely. Especially when handling potentially explosive media, the safety and health protection of employees is a top priority for companies in this industry. With the EXCube series, TEKA is currently closing a gap in the product range. As a highly efficient filter unit, the EXCube is especially suitable for the safe and effective separation of explosive media in the manufacturing process. The product innovation was developed to extract and filter fumes and dusts generated during laser, plasma and oxyfuel cutting processes and many others, too.  All explosive dusts of dust explosion class St 1 can be safely separated.  The use of the EXCube is recommended, for example, where aluminium is cut.

After one year of development the latest product innovation is currently being launched with great response on the international market.  While many suppliers offer explosion protection on filter units via individual explosion protection components, TEKA's latest product innovation is a completely new unit based on the best-selling FILTERCUBE series.

"The impetus for this innovation came from an increasing number of requests from practitioners that we were approached with," Mr Telöken continues. After only one year of development, the EXCube series could be delivered ready for the market and put into operation.

Above all, the compact footprint of the basic model with 800 mm x 800 mm is a key system advantage that opens up many fields of application. TEKA recommends installing the explosion venting system outdoors, but installation indoors is possible under certain technical conditions. Overall, the EXCube convinces with its low sound pressure level (approx. 73dBA).

And this is how the EXCube works:

With the highly efficient 7.5 kW filter unit, the explosive media (alveolar particles < 0.4 µm) in the oxygen cutting, plasma or laser cutting processes are separated almost up to 100 % with the specially developed filter cartridges. The filter cartridges are cleaned automatically or manually (as an option) by compressed air at the required intervals depending on the contamination by loosening the particles from the filter surface. The heart of the unit is the fan unit developed by TEKA, characterised by its robust design and its low-maintenance due to the direct drive. In addition, the use of brand motors increases the operational reliability of the system and underlines its high value.

The EXCube is made for maintenance-free continuous use. The filter units are generally characterised by their user-friendliness. The filter can be changed quickly and easily thanks to the clamping bracket and the easy access. The dust collecting tank can be removed without tools.

"Explosive applications are special applications. Nevertheless we are serving a growing demand in the niche market here," explains TEKA Managing Director Simon Telöken.
