Efficiency and occupational safety in harmony

TEKA implements individual extraction and filter concept for new welding shop of machine manufacturer Kreyenborg
"The quality of the indoor air has improved significantly. Even on very warm days, the hall is not heated up, but has a very pleasant indoor climate due to the circulation." Jan Hendrik Ostgathe, Managing Director of Kreyenborg GmbH, is more than satisfied. Last year, the internationally successful machine builder set the course for the future by making extensive investments in two new halls for final assembly and the welding shop. In the ultra-modern welding shop, a graduated extraction and filter concept from TEKA ensures that up to ten welders can work on Kreyenborg solutions for bulk material handling in pleasantly cool, but above all non-hazardous room air. The costs for the system technology remained within manageable limits thanks to state subsidies.

To be able to offer clean air for the employees in the welding shop at all times was the maxim when the company started planning the air conditioning concept for the new 1,100 sqm hall together with Rommelmann, a long-standing TEKA trade partner from Münster. As a first step, each of the ten welding workplaces was equipped with mobile Handycart units. HANDYCARTS with 99 percent separation efficiency and automatic cleaning are ideal all-rounders for mobile torch extraction wherever welding fumes are produced at frequently changing workplaces. The Handycart is therefore equipped as a mobile high-vacuum extraction system with a maintenance-free continuous turbine.

"However, the main challenge was to also capture and clean the air in the entire hall," says Telöken. It was particularly difficult to capture the air in the area of the first part of the hall, as this was raised considerably in order to be able to weld the silos in an upright position.

The decision was quickly made in favour of two EcoCube systems. The EcoCube from TEKA is a modular system solution - efficient and at the same time simple when it comes to installation, maintenance and service. Equipped with four nano-filter cartridges of the latest generation, which offer top separation performance, it reliably gets to work: The air containing pollutants is fed into the filter section via a pipe system with integrated intake grilles. The cleaned air is returned to the work area without heat loss. The use of the motor generation with up to 10,000 m³/h intake volume ensures a constantly reliable air exchange in the hall.

"We try to protect our employees in the best possible way and have found a very good solution with the Handycarts and the EcoCubes," emphasises the managing director. The Airtracker, which measures whether the legally required fine dust values are being complied with, shows how all the systems interact and ensure healthy indoor air. "The traffic light is always green. We are very satisfied with TEKA as our partner for the entire process," Ostgathe sums up.
