TECNAC: Ampel-Sensor im Industrie 4.0-Stil erkennt Gefahren frühzeitig
"For us, it was of primary importance that the dust sensor controls the room air and also regulates it in connection with extraction systems. This enables us to ensure compliance with the dust limits applicable throughout Europe in order to protect the health of our employees. The use of the system also results in energy savings, which is a desirable side-effect for us in view of the ever-increasing price of electricity". - Silvestre León, Managing Director TECNAC
The Spanish company Tecnac produces components for industrial refrigeration and air conditioning technology with about 50 employees. Products such as liquid receivers, oil separators and carbon steel condensers are sold in more than 30 countries worldwide. The air purification in a room had to be put on a new basis.
Tecnac received TEKA extraction technology in the form of the AIRTECH ambient air technology solutions, complemented by the Airtracker Basic ambient air monitoring unit for digital workplace prevention. The air in the room is cleaned with three-room air extraction systems and filters. The stand-alone systems do not require ducts and are predestined for use in production plants with high smoke development and high emission rates.
The networked communication in the Industry Standard 4.0 works as follows: Each of the three Airtech systems is connected to an Airtracker module, which is installed in central locations in the room and is equipped with a high-performance computer with 4 GB of memory and several individually programmable interfaces. The entire sensor system in the room can be connected and automated through cable lines - as in this case - or through the TEKA-Connect Wifi system. If an individually adjustable threshold value for dust load is exceeded at Tecnac, the traffic light display, visible from a distance in the room, changes from green to yellow and the attached extraction system switches on fully automatically after a certain time. In the presence of a frequency converter, the unit is able to automatically increase or decrease the extraction power if the applicable national dust threshold value is exceeded. If, on the other hand, the concentration in the air decreases again, the display turns green in due course and the extraction system is switched off.
In this way, employees are protected from air pollutants and the company saves energy, as the extraction systems are switched on and off as required instead of running all day.
Another advantage is the documentation of the measured values: Tecnac can connect to the Air Attacker through a user-friendly web application, using a cell phone, tablet or PC, regardless of location, to view and document the measured values. In this way, it is possible to check at any time how the state of the room was at a given time with respect to a wide range of parameters. This is of particular interest as evidence for certifications and for government inspections. Unlike comparable devices, the Airtracker Basic multi-sensor system has, in addition to fine dust and volume measurement, numerous other sensors for recording room temperature, air humidity, process control and fire detection.
