The history of TEKA
1995
- TEKA Absaug- und Entsorgungstechnologie is founded on 1 April 1995 by the current managing directors Jürgen Kemper and Erwin Telöken
- The company is initially based on a farm in Gescher/Westphalia
1996
- Relocation to Velen/Westphalia on a 6000 m² site
- Entry into the Dutch market
- Number of employees: 5
1997
- Market entry in Austria
- First participation in the "Schweißen & Schneiden" trade fair in Essen
1999
- The BG Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BGIA) certifies three types of mobile filter units

2000
- Symposium of the Purchasing Office of German Ironmongers (EDE) at TEKA

2001
- Market entry in France
- First major trade fair appearance at the "Schweißen und Schneiden" in Essen
- Number of employees: 30
2003
- Purchase of a 20,000 square metre site on Industriestraße in Velen as a location for production, storage and administration.
- Presentation of the filter systems for large format plotters
2004 - 2006
- Expansion of the production area by a further 300 square metres
- In May, construction begins on a further office and warehouse building on the company premises, which is also occupied by the departments from the technology centre in September
- World's first BGIA certification of a central filter system (type FILTERCUBE 2N-4H) in accordance with international standards
- Number of employees: 80
2007 - 2009
- 2007: TEKA is a finalist for the "Großer Preis des Mittelstandes" of the Oskar Patzelt Foundation
- Number of employees: 90
- 2008: Opening of an external training centre for specialist seminars as well as product training and demonstrations in neighbouring Borken-Weseke. In addition to two training rooms, all mobile and central TEKA standard systems can also be seen there.

- 2009: TEKA receives the "Großer Preis des Mittelstandes" from the Oskar Patzelt Foundation
2010
- TEKA expands its AIRTECH series with the BlowTec centralised extraction system
2011
- TEKA participates in the research project "Intelligent Filter Monitoring". The project partners are Electronic Design Chemnitz, Turck duotec and X-Fab Semiconductor Foundries. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)
2012
- TEKA establishes new subsidiary in Austria
- TEKA launches a cross-company training campaign
- Number of employees: 120 (of which around 10 per cent are trainees)
2013 - 2014
- 2013: The TEKA communication and training centre celebrates its 5th birthday
- TEKA becomes a member of the VDMA sustainability initiative "Blue Competence"
- 2014: TEKA welcomes 60 participants to the first in-house exhibition in Weseke
2016
- The Airtracker from TEKA celebrates its successful premiere at EuroBlech. The room air monitoring device with multi-sensor technology automatically monitors and controls parameters such as fine dust pollution, humidity and noise levels in industrial operations
- TEKA joins the Industry Business Network (IBN) 4.0 and actively participates in the association's work with the Airtracker. The IBN has set itself the goal of implementing Industry 4.0 with concrete added value, especially for medium-sized companies
2017
- TEKA presents its further developments to the Airtracker family at Schweißen & Schneiden. The Airtracker Mini and Airtracker Nano show the way to optimised clean air monitoring for extraction systems and air monitoring in the field of air conditioning and building management.
2018
- The third product generation of the Airtracker Pro has been optimised for Industry 4.0. It is now able to enter into dialogue with production machines.
- TEKA is repositioning itself on the market for torch extraction with the VAC series. Due to its high pressure, it is predestined for continuous use in the high vacuum range. It is primarily suitable for the torch-integrated capture of fumes at welding workstations.
- TEKA establishes new headquarters for sales and marketing in Weseke
2019
- TEKA presents the new core range at Blechexpo
- Opening of a new central warehouse in Spain
- On course for growth: TEKA hires around 50 new employees
2020
- 25 years of TEKA: On 1 April 1995, Jürgen Kemper and Erwin Telöken founded the company on a farm in Gescher.
- TEKA relocates its headquarters to Coesfeld. The new site covers an area of 46,000 m² with 12,000 m² of hall space.
- Contribution to combating the pandemic: TEKA develops the VIROLINE series, which inactivates viruses, bacteria and fungi and thus minimises the risk of infection with Covid-19.
2021
- New development no.1: With the AirCube, TEKA develops its most intelligent, sustainable, efficient and smartest filter system.
- New development no. 2: The highly efficient EXCube extraction and filter system effectively separates all explosive dusts of dust explosion class St 1.
